The 4th National “Double First-Rate” Medical Universities Construction Forum was grandly held in Wuhan from October 25th to 26th, 2023. The forum was hosted by the “Double First-Rate” Medical University Construction Alliance and the Medical Department of Peking University, and co-hosted by the Medical Department of Wuhan University. More than 540 representatives from about 80 medical universities and hospitals across the country participated in the forum. Vice president Zhong Hongshan of JZMU, as the host guest, attended the meeting with relevant personnel from the Postgraduate School.
Vice president Zhong Hongshan presided over the forum of “Serving Technology, Achieving Self-Reliance” and discussed with the reporting experts and attendees on issues of construction of high-level research-oriented universities, science and technology innovation centers, issues of artificial intelligence and medicine. During the discussion, Zhong Hongshan introduced the “Double First-Rate” construction of JZMU from several aspects, including the Three-Year Action Plan for Comprehensive Revitalization and New Breakthrough, the construction of three collaborative innovation centers of Age-related Diseases Prevention and Control, Health Promotion for Children and Adolescents and Human and Zoonosis Disease Prevention and Control as well as the promotion of the extensive and deep medical integration with science, engineering, and agriculture.
The forum provided a platform for mutual exchange and learning among medical universities across the country, deepened a better understanding of the country’s “Double First-Rate” construction for medical universities, and facilitated the “Double First-Rate” construction and disciplinary development of JZMU.
